Our premium mahogany kalimba has a unique bowl shape which helps generate increased resonance. The mahogany face is hand carved with distinctive tribal pattern. The 7 metal tines can be tuned to create different types of sound. Kalimbas, or idiophones, have been a part of African culture for hundreds of years. They are played with the thumb and forefinger and look as good as they sound. This unique instrument is usually used as an accompaniment to song but may be used individually.
